Mid-Winter Info
Youth and Parents:
Mid-Winter 2009 is going to be an incredible weekend!
What “2” Bring to Mid-Winter:
Bedding including Pillow for twin-sized bed, Towels, Personal Items, Warm Clothing, Comfortable closed-toed shoes (walking shoes), Writing Material & BIBLES.
What NOT to Bring to Mid-Winter:
Radios, Jam Boxes, Walkmans, CD’s, MP3 players, Video Games, 2-Way Radios, Cell Phones (Amanda's suggestion: turn em off and hide em well!) & Bad Attitudes
(Remember that the cabin rooms do not have locks on the outside doors.)
Money:
Some loose change can be converted into goodies and drinks during the weekend, as well as a chance for offering during one of our worship services. You will need money for dinner on Friday night’s dinner and Sunday’s lunch at McDonalds. (Around $15 for 2 meals.)
Schedule:
Friday - Meet behind the church at 5 pm to load the vehicles. The group will leave at 5:30 pm. We will stop for dinner in Crockett around 7pm.
Sunday - Check-out at Lakeview at noon. The group will stop for lunch in Crockett around 1pm. We should return to the church around 3pm. Please be flexible. We will do our best to stay on schedule and contact you should there be any changes.
We have 14 youth and 2 counselors attending Mid-Winter this year! Very exciting! However, we are still in need of a male adult to attend this weekend with our youth. If you are available to attend as a counselor, please contact me ASAP. It will be SO much fun!

Disciple Now Weekend

Disciple Now Weekend was awesome! Over 100 local youth gathered to fellowship and spent time together in Bible Study and Worship. The weekend's theme: Here & Now encouraged all of us to examine what we can do for God right here in Woodville and right now with the time we've been given. Over 325 people were in attendance at the Saturday Night Worship Rally. Way to go Blue Team for bringing 45 guests to Pack the House!
Group Leader Adam McAbee and WUMC Blue Team Members Adrian, Clark & BJ wait for their free Texas Brownie Sundaes at Elijah's Cafe Saturday Night after Worship.
Justin, Colton, and Sana hanging out at Elijah's.

DNow Directors: Debbie Yancey, Dogwood Hills Baptist; Kelly Knox, Katy Baptist; Amanda Boyd, Woodville UMC; Jody VanDeaver, Colmesneil FBC; Todd Pounds, Woodville's FBC; Bubba Sheffield, Katy Baptist.

DNow participants, leave your comments and let us all know what your favorite part of the DNow weekend was and how God spoke to you this weekend.

Chris Allen Band in Concert!
On Sunday, January 25th, we'll go to Jasper's First Baptist Church to see the Chris Allen Band in Concert. We'll meet at our regular 4:30pm time, eat and head to Jasper about 5:45. We should be home around 8:30. Wear your youth T-shirt and bring a friend!
Parents: If you're available to join us, give Amanda a call!

Christmas Time
Just before Christmas, we celebrate Sights, Sounds and Smells of the Holiday Season. Our youth group was asked to chose a country and share how Christmas is celebrated in that country. We chose Samoa and our Samoan youth members, AJ & Solo taught us lots about their country! We performed a dance at the celebration and everyone enjoyed some fun Samoan food. It was a great experience for everyone!
